In this interview, Hassan Rahim compares his transitions to those of music, saying that he wants to gracefully transition much like how one song blends to the next in a mix. And, along with some clever ideas he shared for this magazine, he also shared a dope mix. The pleasant flow of a quality mix along with the perfect amount of sound resonating from the speakers are the result of mindful and precise adjustments to volume and tempo, in addition to the selection of music. While listening to his mix, I realized that the same could be said of his body of work. He considers each project to be his own creation, and to faithfully express his own feelings, he deeply investigates what will affect the audience, and spares no effort in making meticulous choices and fine-tuning his work. Through this process, the subtleties of his emotions and moods are imbued into the work, which leads to its abstract quality with depth. Upon first glance, the responses here may seem brief but when you slow down and savor his answers, you can see that he has carefully extracted these answers through confronting himself in his own words.
