The NODE website is
currently undergoing a renewal. What was it that made you feel it needed to be
renewed, and what do you plan to do with the new website?
We are torn between
pragmatic solutions— a database, without guarantee of completeness—
and experimental solutions. Your own website always holds great challenges. I
find it impressive, for example, that many of our teachers from the Rietveld
work successfully as designers and still avoid having their own websites, for
whatever reason. I guess you have to ask yourself: what’s
the point of having a website if you already have a certain presence. Should it
logically become one of our projects, or a “neutral” container? In
our case, a reappraisal of the projects of the last twenty years will play a
role, and we will probably discover a lot about
ourselves that we have long forgotten. Dealing with it will probably help us.
