Stefano Pilati

Stefano Pilati took command of the pioneering global fashion house, Yves Saint Laurent, directing the maison for eight years. Even I, someone who has never worked in the fashion industry, am awestruck upon retracing the history of his career. But the main reason I desired to interview him, was a statement from 2018 for his newly established brand, Random Identities. I was moved by his clear words that were backed by profound experience and irrefutable determination. I can only imagine how much pressure he faced behind the scenes of those gorgeous stages, and how he confronted that pressure, and what scenery he saw after escaping the troubled waters. This is what piqued my interest more than anything else. There is no doubt he is a rarified presence who possesses a distinguished sense of beauty, but he also is a genuinely sincere individual. This was apparent from my first email exchange with him, and in each following response he provided. Receiving his honest words, that answered my questions with no hesitation, was a heart-moving experience that also allowed me to find improvement for myself.
