DJ Kensei

Hiroshi (Ito), who’d been living in New York, linked me up with Buddha (Buddha Brand), and then when they came back to Japan we started a regular party with Master Key at Terminal in Nishi Azabu (in 1994) first and then did Buddha’s first recording together. I guess it was the scene being so small back then, but if you were a hip-hop DJ in the city, you were going to end in the same spaces with the same faces a whole lot. Like how I would do this regular party “Savage” at Yellow with Muro. I recorded Ill Vibes around then at Juice in Nishi Azabu, where I also had a regular party going.
