How did you come to actually start as Drumetrics, including how you met Andrew David Barragan and Danny Ray Barragan, who are the main members of the collective?I’ve known Danny Ray Barragan (DRB) since 1996 as we were in the same graffiti & breakdancing crew: ICU. One day I went to his house and he had a drum set in his bedroom, and I flipped out of how good he was. I also met his brother Andrew David Barragan (ADB) while he was playing his Wurlitzer in his bedroom. ADB actually went to high school with William Bensussen (The Gaslamp Killer, GLK) before I even met GLK. In 2014, William wanted me to curate a live band for a local show. So the first two essential core members I recruited were DRB-ADB: the backbone of drums and bass. That show is what reunited us to create the Drumetrics collective.
