So for me, the craftsmanship and celebration of British craft, through my own main line and through the collaborations, has been a big part of the brand and something which I want to continue to explore and celebrate.
Each season, you have taken a very specific era, culture, person or their work as a theme. How do you find such themes?
I like to create specific themes for each collection, but I also feel they’re all interconnected with a similar vibe and feeling. But it’s nice to add in a different tone whether that’s the colors, the references, or the feeling. So yeah, every collection has a different name: Forgotten Fury, Slygo, The Abstract Truth, Red Clay — a lot of them are named after musical references, which obviously play a big part of my inspiration. I feel that they’re all still interconnected like brothers and sisters. Every collection has a different theme and a different vibe, but they’re still connected through the same styles and silhouettes, and authentic feeling. And I think it’s great, so I obviously show as much breadth and diversity.
