I
read F2C’s statement on Soundcloud, and it seems to be an antithesis or
manifesto against the current dance music culture. Please tell us again about
F2C’s attitude and concept.
MaurizioOur manifesto is not against anything. It’s just the
expression of our own feelings about the concept
of dance music and its recent evolution. We feel
a capitalist attitude in the music industry which makes
us dubious about its artistic sincerity. The
actual law of the fastest bpm is just an example that makes new trends
appear meaningless.
UgoAs Maurizio explained, our manifesto is not
against anything, but we want to criticize the
bpm fascism. This
refers to the fake rule that the higher bpm
the better, which is a capitalist rule that doesn’t lead to anything good. We want the
groove at the center of the scene, we want body and pleasure
through the groove,
and the connections among people at the center
of the experience. This is what dance music is meant to be, not an ego
game for stars.
