That would be blue affair, right? You worked on a video piece for this project but what compelled you to want to express yourself through the format?
Though it may be video, it is composed entirely of photographs. Rather than thinking of filming a video piece, as I was working on it, it felt like the situation in front of me was unfolding like a film.
What do you feel are the differences in expression between photography and video?
With video, the concept of time is born. Also sound can be added. The range of options is much broader so I felt that if I didn’t know the direction, it would be easy to get lost and become incoherent, and it wouldn’t makes sense as a piece. For what you’d call video pieces, since it has to be filmed according to storyboards and script, these sorts of concerns are probably few – but for this work, I wasn’t photographing them in sake of making a video piece, that is why it was quite a challenge to me.
