What
is your vision for the future, both personally and as a brand?
So,
the vision for the brand is to continue to grow, to work in new designs, and
collaborate with more companies which I think are doing interesting products.
Also we are moving into more womenswear products and lifestyle items for the
brands: we developed our first incense this season, and we’ve created
more hand-knitted items across homewares as well as ready to wear. So, we’d love to expand more on the Nicholas Daley design, not just through
menswear, but in lots of different other areas. Overall, I’m feeling very positive about the brand. We’ve
grown so much over a very short space of time and continue to showcase at fashion
weeks, continue to create collections each season, and continue to grow. I
think the scope of Nicolas Daley is very wide. We’ve
shown that we can work with luxury leather companies like Mulberry, we can do exhibitions
and gallery spaces, we can create pop-ups, we can collaborate with sportswear
companies. We can design, so I think what we’ve shown
over the last few years is how as a brand —as a label and the team around me— how we can create
our aesthetic across multiple creative mediums and formats, which I think is
very important in today’s industry where things in the creative worlds are more blurred
between fashion, music, art and design. And I think you know, I definitely want
to continue to push and continue to learn, and try new things and grow the
company in a sustainable way, and work with the right partners who believe in
the brand. So far, I’ve been very fortunate and very
lucky, and I’m looking forward to what the future
holds.
