Please
tell us what you have been interested in recently? Are there any artists or
designers that have caught your attention?
It is only vaguely connected to
typography and Latin alphabet; I am interested
in that cultural and societal shift that happened in the
first centuries of the common era, when the Roman world had
been transformed by the rise and spread of Christianity.
Everything changed, and it
influenced art, literature, and music for
centuries to come. It feels strangely relevant today. So, I am reading a lot of books by Bart Ehrman at the moment.
What
projects would you like to take on from now and what are your future plans?
At the moment, I
am working on a major update of the foundry website. We are preparing another
edition of “Which Mirror Do You Want To Lick Exhibition”
in collaboration with students from Tokyo University of the Arts. And, I
look forward to travel and meeting students and colleagues in person again.
