Speaking of domestic solo exhibitions at art
museums, you also did “PEEKABOO” at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery in 2018. I
hear the Gokita Records series you unveiled there was something you’d been
building since 2002.
I unveiled the Gokita Records at “PEEKABOO”,
yeah, but that series is almost like a hobby to me, something I started on my
own ages ago that’s still going on even now. It’s a made-up premise with actual
wrestlers covering actual songs on 12-inch singles, drawn on the white jackets
of junk records like the ones I used to find at record
shops for 50 to 100 yen.
