ARK
Reawakens
After
3 Years
The
Wait Is Almost Over
GLOBAL ARK began in 2012 at the Sagazawa Campground in Yamanashi. Since then, it has drawn music lovers from Japan and abroad to breathtaking natural settings such as Oze Hotaka Highlands and Norikura Highlands. Its journey has been shaped by the autonomous creativity woven by the artists themselves, and by soundscapes that transcend boundaries and overlap in resonance. After a three-year pause, the festival will once again unfold on the final weekend of August, with Suteki-na Mura Campground in Gunma’s Asamagakure Onsenkyo as its main venue.
Venue

Over the years, GLOBAL ARK has conjured countless fleeting moments where sound dissolves into the air of the great outdoors. This year again, the lineup promises more of those extraordinary experiences.
From overseas, James Holden—renowned for his modular synths and boundary-pushing performances—will appear with a live set. Having expanded the possibilities of techno through an experimental approach that transcends club music, his sound will reveal fresh dimensions when it merges with the natural surroundings. Also joining are Stefan Goldmann, who has redefined minimalism through his own unique lens, and Stefan Vincent, whose sharp beats and rich sonic sensibility have earned wide attention.
From Japan, the lineup brings together pioneers such as Tohru Takahashi (Godfather), Tatsuo Sunaga, and Kaoru Inoue, along with GLOBAL ARK mainstays DJ MIKU, ECSTASY TWINS, and DO SHOCK BOOZE. A new generation including 7e, ERIMIYA, and NUTMEG also joins, while DJ KENSEI, featured in conversation in Nigh Issue 8, returns to the decks.
In addition, DJ YOGURT, Sanchō Meisō Chaya, naotsun, and Tsutomu, all of whom played at Nigh’s secret party BTAF (Build The Ambience Friday), will join the gathering. Over three days, diverse approaches and backgrounds converge, inviting us into new depths of sound.
