SPECTACLE

Through parties in harmony with nature, Liquid Drop Groove (LDG) has cultivated a unique sensibility. Bringing that perspective into the urban landscape, their experiment SPECTACLE returns this fall to Daikanyama UNIT/SALOON.
Launched in 2021 at the now-defunct ageHa and followed by a large-scale floor production at WOMB in 2023, SPECTACLE has always sought to transcend the format of a club night. Now, after two years, it reemerges with a renewed focus on the audiovisual, evolving into a purer form of experience and a new kind of festival radiating from Tokyo.
At the core of this reborn SPECTACLE is Hungarian artist Gábor Lázár, who has released on Germany’s legendary experimental label Raster-Media. Using a self-built interface to dismantle and reconstruct musical structures, his approach embodies the very horizon of perception that SPECTACLE seeks to explore. He nudges listeners beyond the comfort zone while maintaining resonance, and the integration of his sound and visuals shakes the very shape of experience itself.

On the other hand, the audiovisual vision of SPECTACLE is not limited to Gábor alone.
Headlining the night, DJ Nobu appears together with Ukawa Naohiro with RRD. Building on the impact of the FULL AI VJ unveiled at Future Terror over the New Year, their collaboration gives rise to new, uncharted forms. Further, UK-based Lynne and modular synth virtuoso O-MA are joined by Naoto Tsujita, weaving sound and image together as a trio.
Solo, duo, trio — through these different approaches, the audiovisual unfolds as an experiment that expands the night itself.
UNIT Line-Up
Meanwhile at SALOON, Europe’s cutting edge meets Tokyo’s core. Altinbas, resident at Belgium’s FUSE, and Aiken from Spain’s Non Series represent the current frontier of techno. From Japan, Shinsuke Goto (After Life) and LDG’s own YUTA answer with rare, theme-driven sets. The space itself will be transformed through the contributions of KUKAN (the solo project of Mirrorbowler’s Taiki Kusakabe), laser artist fuwatty, and moonrisedrop, who creates cosmic installations — together conjuring another landscape within SALOON.
SALOON Line-Up
he convergence of music, visuals, and spatial design here is more than just a club event. SPECTACLE is an experiment in rewriting context, a place to share the sensation of glimpsing the future.
