On Saturday, June 21, 2025—the summer solstice—“sorameccer sound gathering” returns after two years, taking place at ZERO-SITE, a newly established, temporary club space in Takanawa Gateway.
sorameccer is a sound community and art form launched in 2021 by DJ KENSEI, TATTI, and syoma. To date, it has released six cassette tapes in the “sorameccer sound design” series and presented multidimensional experiences that gently transcend temporal layers—through music, space, and visuals—at past gatherings held at WOMB in 2022 and UNIT in 2023.
The theme of this edition is “Kaitsu”. Within sorameccer, “kaitsu” refers to opening pathways that link past and future in order to deeply feel the present moment. It also means crossing tradition with innovation to renew the now—and reweaving the connections between inner and outer, body and space.
The gathering will be opened with a “Kaitsu Ceremony” conducted by the Gohouzan Manryuji Temple from Suzaka, Nagano. Having served as a spiritual key in the past two editions, the temple once again prepares the space before music fills it—calibrating the atmosphere and opening the path for sensation to flow.
The venue spans two floors, with the third floor serving as the main area. There, the session project “FINAL DROP MODOKI”—a contemporary reincarnation of the 2003 masterpiece Final Drop, born on Yakushima Island—will deliver a one-night-only convergence. DJ KENSEI, GoRo The Vibratian, Izpon, Anna Yamada, and STEEEZO bring together distinct sensibilities and techniques to channel sonic memories rooted in place, giving rise to soundscapes that resonate anew in the city space of 2025. Like inner visions in motion, the sound will continuously shift and ripple into the depths of the senses.
The lineup also features a hybrid live set by 蜻蛉-Tonbo-, an artist whose fusion of the Indian bansuri flute with modular synths paints sonic journeys that drift across time and space. DJ Kaolinite, known for blending electronic textures with organic pulses, will envelop the floor in multilayered waves of sound. Each performer offers a distinct approach that delicately layers sound and space, adding depth and dimension to the floor.
Visually shaping the space are live painting by STONE63 and video projections by VIDEOGRAM. Through a confluence of music, color, line, light, and motion, they will transform the environment into a phenomenon of audiovisual interplay.
On the second floor, community members led by TATTI will weave grooves that breathe with time. As sounds flow seamlessly together, they respond to the energy of the floor, cultivating a sense of unity and gently stirring the collective atmosphere.
Here, participants are free to roam the space as if wandering through a museum, guided by their own intuition. Each person encounters music, visuals, and art at their own pace—softening the senses and deepening the experience. These accumulated sensations may well open new pathways that connect the past and present to an emerging future.
In this temporary urban space open to the city, “sorameccer sound gathering” will emerge for one night only. Layer by layer, it invites participants toward a yet-unknown experience—one that resonates deep within the consciousness.
