How about the themes in your exhibitions? Up until now, your work has consistently centered on the concept of “concrete and abstract” as mentioned earlier, but have you established any other themes?
In our duo exhibitions up until now, since Kenshiro and I have different styles, or rather different outputs, there hasn't been a concept that could be considered more than just a superficial theme. My solo exhibitions each have slightly different themes since they are presented for each series of work.

Do you think of these themes after the works have been finished?
I don’t think of the theme or concept in advance. Sometimes the materials inspire an idea, but during the process when I feel there is something compelling about it, I pause to think a bit about what makes it interesting, and then I continue working. Once the entire creative process has settled down, I try to sum up what exactly was thought provoking.
