Stephan Tillmans is a fine art photographer and digital product designer exploring everything between the abstract and the concrete. He studied communication design at the University of Europe (formerly the Technical Art School Berlin), where he developed Luminant Point Arrays as his bachelor's thesis project under the mentorship of art director and filmmaker James Higginson. This project earned him international recognition, notably Gold in the Fine Art/Abstract category at the 2012 International Photography Awards and Silver in the Architecture/Still Life category at the 2012 Lead Awards. Following graduation, he pursued a career as a freelance designer and later specialized in service design after completing a program at the HPI School of Design Thinking in Potsdam. He currently runs his own agency.
